Funny Book Classics

Last night Bryce was reading "The Funny Book", a book of funny kid sayings and antics that we keep in our kitchen. Anytime someone witnesses something worthy of being added to the book they write it down. I started it in 1992 and the entries still make us laugh.

Here are a few of my favorite kid questions over the years:

"If you run out of tears and get spanked do you just say 'ouchie', 'ouchie', 'ouchie'?" (2001)
"Can I take my tie off? It makes my hands cold." (2001)
"Mama, how come the first baby you had was a biggun and the last one was a weiner?" (2002)
"Wouldn't it be weird if this was all a dream and I woke up and was homeless?." (2007)

Ha! I love it! I keep a book for each of my kids for quotes like this...but that's a great idea to just have one, and to have it accessible so it gets used before you forget to jot it down.

So...Joey was the biggun, eh?

Yep, Joey was the "biggun-est" at 10 pounds 2 ounces. Everything's small after that!

What a great idea! I think I need to start one of those.

This morning we had one worthy of a "funny book".

We were discussing creation, and something clicked for my daughter (8 yrs old). She got a far off look and with a tone of awe said "Wow. I can't even clean my room in six days...."

:o)

Amy Lu--That was priceless! DO start a book, you'll be surprised at how often you're writing in it. We just keep a regular notebook and pen in a kitchen cupboard and keep on adding to it. I suppose I'll continue it with grandchildren some day.

Love the quotes and the idea! I'll have to do that!

And WOW! I didn't know how big Joey was! Did they truly get smaller after that? I've always heard babies get bigger, but I think this one is going to be smaller - I don't mind!:)
